According to John (Jn 14:1-12)
"Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me..."
Thomas said to him, "Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?" Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life..."
Philip said, "Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us." Jesus answered: "Don’t you know me, Philip...?
Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me...
Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father."
BADISMISHA's Reflection:
In this passage of the Gospel of John we find an absolute message of inclusion and hope: God is for everyone, no one is excluded. In Jesus' words we understand that the Father has prepared a dwelling place for each of us, regardless of who we are or where we come from.
Jesus points out the way unmistakably: He Himself is the Way. And precisely by passing through Him, we are able to embrace the Truth and, consequently, to live the true Life. It is the stupendous mystery of the Holy Trinity that unfolds before our eyes.
Finally, there is a powerful invitation to not be afraid and be filled with courage. Jesus makes us an incredible promise: if we have faith, not only will we do His own works, but we will be able to do even greater ones.
